A graduate of the School of Toronto Dance Theatre, Krista Posyniak is a dancer, choreographer and dance instructor. Posyniak has performed in works by Susie Burpee, Jennifer Dallas, Jasmine Graham, Kate Nankervis Eroca Nicols/Lady Janitor and Meagan O’Shea. She co-founded The Creative Republic Artist Collective with Jasmine Graham producing This is Dance in January 2011, a curated selection of six emerging Toronto choreographers. Krista choreographed and performed for the Toronto Fringe Festival with Kate Nankervis in 2009 and Pocket Alchemy in 2011. Under the Bone Gossip Dance Theatre she created a work that premiered at the Edmonton International Fringe Festival 2011. For the past two years she has co-choreographed for Scarborough Music Theatre. Recently relocated to Edmonton, Krista is studying Arts Management at Grant MacEwan University. A former instructor for the Young Dancers’ Program in Toronto, she holds her Level I certificate as an Artist-Educator with Learning Through the Arts and is currently teaching at Ballet North. Thanks to a grant from the Canada Council for the Arts, Krista attended the Global Dance Summit 2012 in Taipei, Taiwan. An advocate of education through movement, her interest lies in developing a child’s sense of identity through dynamism, improvisation and physical confidence.
